We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented finance professional to join our team as Senior Accountant on a full-time, 12-month maximum-term contract.
About the Role
This role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial management and reporting across Belong Blue Mountains.
Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, you will support the effective management of financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, NDIS financial administration, compliance and audit preparation.
You will also provide operational support within the Finance team, ensuring financial systems and processes operate efficiently and support organisational and funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare monthly financial reporting, including MYOB data management and bank reconciliations
Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements in line with statutory requirements
Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and follow up of outstanding debts
Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring compliance with organisational policies
Prepare payment files and coordinate banking transactions
Manage petty cash and financial records across multiple sites
Support payroll processing and financial administration
Process NDIS Plan Management claims and provider payments
Monitor and resolve invoice queries and rejected claims
Maintain accurate financial records and data integrity across systems
Prepare and review NDIS financial reporting
Maintain financial compliance registers and asset records
Support audit preparation and financial reviews
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislation and organisational policies
Conduct reconciliations and financial checks
Provide supervision and support to junior finance staff
Support capability development across financial systems and processes
Work collaboratively with internal teams to support financial operations
About You
You are a capable and proactive finance professional who brings strong technical expertise and a collaborative approach.
You will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, with CPA qualification or equivalent
Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and audit processes
Proven experience using MYOB or similar accounting systems
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of data accurately
Experience in compliance, governance and financial controls
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience in the community services sector or NDIS financial processes will be highly regarded.
