GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES
Are you 65 or over and want to maintain or improve your strength, balance and mobility?
Would you like to meet new people in a supportive and positive environment?
Standing Strong is a physiotherapy-designed group exercise program for over 65s. The classes are delivered as a 10 week program running 4 times a year. We focus on building strength, balance, mobility and more, catering to various levels of fitness and mobility.
The cost of the classes are subsidised down to $60 for a 10 week block.
There are three different levels of classes available:
A low to moderate intensity class with regular rest breaks and some seated exercises. Also suitable for people with walking aids.
An all-round class for independent seniors returning to exercise or increasing their fitness. Suitable for people with osteoarthritis.
A higher level class for those who can get on and off the floor and exercise at a higher intensity with strength, balance and mobility.
You will need to have a My Aged Care Registration and Physiotherapy & Social Support (Individual) referral codes before commencing classes. We can help you access these requirements if needed.
Classes will run at Three locations in 2023.
St. Albans Anglican Church Hall
137A Megalong Street Leura on Mondays.
Mid Mountains Neighbourhood Centre
9 New Street Lawson on Tuesdays.
Lower Mountains Neighbourhood Centre
33 Hope Street Blaxland on Thursdays.
Registration is essential.
