 STANDING STRONG 
  GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES 

Are you 65 or over and want to maintain or improve your strength, balance and mobility?

  Would you like to meet new people in a supportive and positive environment?   

Standing Strong is a physiotherapy-designed group exercise program for over 65s.  The classes are delivered as a 10 week program running 4 times a year. We focus on building strength, balance, mobility and more, catering to various levels of fitness and mobility. 

 

The cost of the classes are subsidised down to $60 for a 10 week block.

There are three different levels of classes available: 

HUON

A low to moderate intensity class with regular rest breaks and some seated exercises. Suitable for people with walking aids or balance issues.

BANKSIA

A moderate intensity all-round class for independent seniors returning to exercise or increasing their fitness. Suitable for people with osteoarthritis.

ANGOPHORA

A moderate to high intensity all-round class for active seniors who have exercised for > 6 months. Moderate to high intensity strength, balance, and mobility.

WOLLEMI

A high intensity all-round class for fit seniors who are able to get on and off the floor, jog, and work towards optimising physical health and wellbeing.

You will need to have a My Aged Care Registration and Physiotherapy & Social Support (Individual) referral codes before commencing classes. We can help you access these requirements if needed.

Leura,

St. Albans Anglican Church Hall,

137A Megalong Street Leura.

Lawson,

Mid Mountains Neighbourhood Centre,

9 New Street Lawson.

Blaxland,

Lower Mountains Neighbourhood Centre,

33 Hope Street Blaxland.

Registration is essential.

LIVE SESSION RECORDINGS

Our live Zoom classes are recorded for participants to view on You Tube to support their exercise routine.

Recorded classes should only be used to guide exercise if you have been properly assessed and enrolled in a Standing Strong class.
