Our Community & Neighbourhood Services aim to bring people together to build stronger communities where all people feel included and supported. Our three Neighbourhood Centres are safe and welcoming community hubs, open to everyone to use as a place to come and be heard, be supported, be connected and belong.

Katoomba Neighbourhood Centre

Katoomba Neighbourhood Centre first opened in 1979 on Station Street and moved to Katoomba St in 2023. The Centre includes a community room with kitchenette, community-use computers and free wi-fi access.

Mid Mountains Neighbourhood Centre

Mid Mountains Neighbourhood Centre first opened its doors in the heart of Lawson in 1992. The Centre is a busy hub of community activity with multiple community rooms a tree-lined courtyard space and a small outdoor playspace.

Lower Mountains Neighbourhood Centre

From a small community service that began in 1981, the LowerMountains Neighbourhood Centre was opened in Blaxland in 1992.  The Centre has mutliple community rooms, community-use computers and free wi-fi access.

Community Garden

Community Events, Groups & Activities

We host and support a wide variety of community events, groups and activities across the Blue Mountains throughout the year.  Keep an eye on our Facebook page and What's On listings on this website for more information.  

Volunteers Packing Food

Food & Essentials Relief

Emergency food hampers are available through our Neighbourhood Centres for anyone in need of a little extra support with pantry staples. We can also help with information and referrals for other essential and emergency relief.

Finding the right help and support can be a difficult and overwhelming process.  If we don't have the support you need, we can provide you with information about other services and connect you with people who can help.

No Interest Loans Scheme

The NILS No Interest Loan Scheme allows eligible individuals and families on low incomes to access safe, fair and affordable credit for the purchase of essential household items and services with interest and no fees or charges.

Our 'Be Ready' Team are here to help you be better prepared for emergencies. Our goal is to increase your emergency preparedness incrementally and ensure you and your support network are aware, capable and prepared.
