The BIN BUDDIES Program

Helping older people in our community to do something many of us take for granted. 

What is the 'Bin Buddies' program?

Belong Blue Mountains is trialling a new program to help people who are 65 years or over with putting their bins out and bringing them in each week.

​

The Bin Buddies pilot program will run with the help of volunteers in Blaxland, Lawson and Katoomba until December this year.

Can you spare 15 minutes a week?

Would you like to help older people in our community?   Can you spare 10 - 15 mintues a week to help someone with something many of us take for granted?

If you would like to help and are interested in finding out mroe about the program, please submit the volunteer's 'expression of interest' form below, or contact us. 

Would you like to register for help from a Bin Buddy?

Do you have reduced mobility, need support with daily tasks and have trouble moving your bins?  Are your bins too heavy 
or in an awkward location?

Bin Buddies Volunteer Expression of Interest Form
Belong Blue Mountains is now looking for people who are interested in volunteering for the BIN BUDDIES pilot program.  BIN BUDDIES Volunteers will be helping older people in our community to put their bins out and bring them back in once a week.  If you are interested in finding out more about volunteering, please complete this expression of interest form and we'll be in touch soon.  You can also contact us directly to find out more.

Please Note: As we are supporting elderly people, Belong Blue Mountains has to comply with certain safety regulations. All Belong Blue Mountains representatives, including volunteers, are required to confirm they have received at least three COVID vaccinations and complete a standard police check - we can help volunteers with this paperwork process to make it as easy as possible.
