The Details

Are you 65 or over and interested in maintaining or improving your strength, balance and mobility? Would you like to meet new people in a supportive and positive environment?

'Standing Strong' strength, Balance & Mobility Classes for over 65s are group exercise class run by the Belong Blue Mountains Healthy Elders Active Living Program facilitated by our qualified physiotherapists.

There are four different classes available for different levels. The levels are: 

HUON - A low to moderate intensity class with regular rest breaks and some seated exercises. Suitable for people with walking aids or balance issues.

BANKSIA - A moderate intensity all-round class for independent seniors returning to exercise or increasing their fitness. Suitable for people with osteoarthritis.

ANGOPHORA - A moderate to high intensity all-round class for active seniors who have exercised for > 6 months. Moderate to high intensity strength, balance, and mobility.

WOLLEMI - A high intensity all-round class for fit seniors who are able to get on and off the floor, jog, and work towards optimising physical health and wellbeing.

MONDAY classes in LEURA, St. Albands Anglican Church Hall 137A Megalong Street

TUESDAY classes in LAWSON, Mid Mountains Neighbourhood Centre 9 New Street

THURSDAY classes in BLAXLAND, Lower Mountains Neighbourhood Centre 33 Hope Street

Weekly classes run in 10 week blocks

Groups are subsidised and will cost $60 per term (10 weeks).
