Are you ready for an emergency?
Australia is witnessing more frequent and severe disaster events. Bushfires, floods, extreme heatwaves, cyclones and pandemics have caused fatalities, injuries and loss around the country. Repeated emergencies have highlighted the disproportionate impact of disasters on people with disabilities.

Our Be Ready team are here to help you be better prepared for emergencies. Our goal is to increase your emergency preparedness incrementally and ensure you and your support network are aware, capable and prepared.
Preparedness is a process, not a one-time event!
How do we help you be prepared?
We are here to help you develop a Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness Plan (P-CEP) that is tailored to your individual needs and capabilities.

We will help you to identify your strengths and support needs in everyday life. We will help you learn about your disaster risk and the emergency management arrangements in your community. We we will be with you as you plan for how you will manage your support needs in an emergency, identify and address gaps in your plan and how you will communicate your plan with the people in your support network.

We will assist you to develop an Action Plan of steps you will take to be more prepared and check in with you regularly to see how you are travelling with getting ready and practicing your plan.

How can you access our service?
The NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission signed a legislative amendment in January 2022 that requires all NDIS registered providers to work with their clients to undertake risk assessments and provide an individualised emergency preparedness plan.

Belong Blue Mountains have committed to this legislative amendment and are offering all our NDIS clients the opportunity to develop their own emergency preparedness plan. So if you are one of our NDIS clients we will be in touch with you soon.

If you are not one of our NDIS clients, you can contact the Be Ready Team for a chat and to book your own planning session today.
