Gardener

Part-time 28 hrs per week up to 35hrs per week - SCHADS Award Level 2 Applications close 15 September at 5pm.


Gardener required with experience using power tools, mowing, hedge trimming, pruning, minor tree work, weeding and general garden maintenance and ability to be a self- starter, working with minimal supervision. This position requires knowledge of Horticulture and/or extensive experience in all aspects of garden care.


This position will be based at one of three Belong Blue Mountains Neighbourhood Centres in Blaxland, Lawson or Katoomba. 


Selection Criteria


Essential Qualifications, Skills, Experience and/or Knowledge Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in this type of job role

  • Requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the trade

  • Experience using general garden machinery

  • Practical knowledge of plants

  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations for this role

  • Skills in general gardening and maintenance with an understanding of applying quality control techniques

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to perform work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment

  • A genuine desire to serve the needs of customers with a strong personal responsibility for achieving customer satisfaction

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills

  • High integrity and honesty in all dealings

  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Interest in and experience working with communities and older people
