We are currently recruiting for the following positions:
Social Support Coordinator
PPT 24hrs Per Week up to 35hrs Per Week
SCHADS Award Level 3
This position provides social support and coordination for participants aged 65 years and older both individually and within group settings facilitating connection with family, friends and the community. Focus is on reducing loneliness and isolation for people living at home or in residential aged care facilities.

This role works closely with volunteers and carers.
​
Qualifications & experience; knowledge, skills and abilities
-
Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, eligible for membership of the AASW or other relevant welfare, health, community services, social science or related fields (acceptance pending confirmation of qualification completion within 3-6 months)
Skills and additional Requirements

Demonstrated ability to show respect and empathy for, and work to support the diverse needs and aspirations of all participants, their carers, and volunteers.

Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Ability to prioritise work tasks and apply initiative.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Ability to work with volunteers.

Competent computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, email/internet, database).
Conditions of Employment

The position is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award 2010.

Fleet vehicles are available for work-related travel.
This position requires you to have:

a current Criminal Record Check.

a current driver’s licence.

a current first aid certificate ( this can be obtained through BelongBM)
-
monthly supervision. This will be provided by Belong Blue Mountains in working hours using an external facilitator.​

Social Work Dementia and Wellbeing Navigation (DAWN) Program
PPT 10hrs Per Week Temporary contract until 30th June 2026
Health Professionals and Support Services Award Level 3
The position will provide social work clinical assessment and interventions to clients 65yearsand over and their carers referred to the DAWN program. Working within a multidisciplinary team this role will focus upon providing support to people with dementia and their carers emotionally and practically to lessen the burden of care and help identify strategies for self- care.

Qualifications & experience; knowledge, skills and abilities

Must hold as a minimum a Bachelor Degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers with at least 5 years’ experience

Gardener
PPT 28hrs Per Week up to 35hrs Per Week
SHADS Award Level 2
Gardener required with experience using power tools, mowing, hedge trimming, pruning, minor tree work, weeding and general garden maintenance and ability to be a self- starter, working with minimal supervision. This position requires knowledge of Horticulture and/or extensive experience in all aspects of garden care.

Light Rigid (LR) driver’s licence,

Ability to work as an effective team member,

Current relevant first aid certificate or willingness to obtain,

Current Working with Children’s check and Criminal Record check.

Basic understanding of WHS issues.

Bus Driver / Childcare Support Worker - Casual
Katoomba Out of School Hours Service (KOOSH)
Award Level Children’s Services Award 2010 Children’s Services Employees (CSE)
The KOOSH service provides before and after school and vacation childcare services. The role of the Bus Driver/Childcare Support Worker is to safely provide transport to and/or from school for children attending Before School Care and After School Care, and assisting in the preparation, provision and clearing up of afternoon tea for children attending.
